Horse Holidays in Derbyshire

Frequently asked Questions

Q: What type of horse do I need when riding the Pennine Bridleway?

A:The route is suitable for all reasonably fit horses although we do recommend a little practice before you come.

Q: Do I need a map?

A: Although the Pennine Bridleway is well signposted we do suggest that you purchase a copy of the Aurem guide – “Pennine Bridleway (Derbyshire to the South Pennines)” or the Harvey’s map – “Pennine Bridleway South”.

Q: What type of bike do I need for cycling through the Peak District National Park?

A: We recommend a mountain bike as parts of the terrain would otherwise be challenging.

Q: Do you cater for special diets?

A: Yes, with prior notice.

Q: Do you take dogs?

A: You are very welcome to bring your dog and we will provide an indoor area for them to stay in but unfortunately they would not be allowed into the farmhouses.

Q: Do I need any special equipment?

A: No, although waterproofs can be useful and a small rucksack/saddlebag to carry drinks and your packed lunch in would be very helpful to you.

Q: Do you take credit cards?

A: No but payment can be made by cash or cheque

Q: What happens if I need a vet or farrier?

A: Just let us know and we will contact our vet/farrier on your behalf.

Q: What do we do in case of emergency on route?

A: We suggest that you carry a mobile phone and our contact numbers. One of us will always be available in case of emergency.

If you have any other questions about your holiday on the Pennine Bridleway, please contact one of us and we will be happy to help.
