feathered friends

The turkeys, geese and christmas trees are all growing well. we do have to round up the turkeys well before dark or they will roost high in the trees or on the barn roofs, and we have hatched some more hens bought back from our hols in oxfordshire. the new laying hens seem as fed up with the weather as we all are and refuse to get into the spirit of actually laying eggs, thank goodness we have some older ones still soldiering on.

North East Cheshire Drag Hunt

"Look at that"!

The hunt had its opening meet at the Grouse Pub, just down the road from Rock Farm this afternoon. Our boys were very excited by the whole thing - glad we put them in the stables!

Busy week

Debs on Charlie and Charlotte on Bleach

We have had a very busy week. Starting with Debs and Charlotte who rode from Rock Farm to Rushop where they stayed for a couple more nights before riding onto Hartington. The weather was not the best but they still really enjoyed the trip.
We also had a party of 5 ladies doing the three night Arbor Low to Rock Farm package - horses and riders all did really well (especially in the fog on Thursday)!
Another party of four are due to arrive this afternoon for three nights.
